I have heard enough times
the soft,
sweet,
soothing,
symmetrical statements.
Eventually the begrimed battlefield
between trusting and not thinking
got buried in oblivion.
I bet
your needs were met,
time and time again.
Compliance
was a lazy nod
to the impending realm.
