That’s my cue.
I soften my outline.
I step back internally
before questions arise.This ritual of vanishing feels pure,
like mastering the method
of mental mayhem.I make my move with precision,
protecting the illusion.I spare everyone
the discomfort
of witnessing
me sinking.The unbearable imbalance,
untraceable to me,
comes later.
