Urgency as a Leash
What happens
when the world is allowed
to mean what it does?Over time
the imbalance became obvious.I spent a great chunk of my life
maintaining instability
for reasons that never resolved.Who benefits
from never letting
things settle?Who profits from
permanent urgency?I believed them,
as did you.We learned to stay reactive,
to accept clarity postponed
on purpose.I’m done executing.
I refuse the protocol
of endless reaction.I sense something slower.
Just honest enough
to let cause and effect
meet again.Yet I hesitate.
Urgency is the oldest leash.
Chaos rooted me well.
Stillness feels exposed
and clarity reads as risk.Stepping out of the churn
reveals how much of it
was never about our survival or success,
but about keeping us
too busy to noticethere was another realm
beyond the noise.

"Who profits from
permanent urgency?"
This is a great question, we must reflect about it every day. Great poem Sam! Thanks for sharing!
